1. Entry fee: $5.00 per entry. The fee is paid by purchasing a Quilter’s Pleasure Weekend Challenge 2009 Package for $5.00.
This package is numbered and contains:
- one Fat Quarter of hand dyed fabric from Linda Palaisy.
- one 100 yard spool of Hand Dyed Thread from Linda Palaisy.
- one numbered label (this label must be attached to your entry form to qualify your entry for the challenge.
- one copy of the rules of the challenge.
- one entry form.
2. All entries must have a significant amount of Linda Palaisy Hand Dyed Fabric and Linda Palaisy Hand Dyed Thread visible on the outer surface.
3. Entry must meet one of these two categories: 1. Little Quilt - of no more than 160 inches perimeter, any shape. Quilts must have a 2 inch hanging sleeve attached to the back of the quilt. Identification label must be attached to back lower corner of the quilt. No commercial pattern is to be used.
4. Wearable Art - Any item that can be worn. Credit must be given to any pattern, design or other work done by someone other than the creator listed on the identification label. Identification label must be securely attached.
5. Entry must be clearly labelled with maker’s Name, Address, and Phone Number and be titled and dated as of the date finished.
6. Entry is to be on Display at the Quilter’s Pleasure Weekend from Friday, 27 February 2009 to Sunday, 1 March 2009.
7. Judging will be based on originality, creativity, workmanship and effective use of the Linda Palaisy Hand Dyed Fabric and Thread. Judging will take place Friday, 27 February 2009. Winners will be announced
8. Judging will be by a panel of sewing professionals, none of whom are on the staff of the Quilter’s Pleasure Weekend staff.
9. There will also be a second judging by Viewer’s Choice.
10. Entries must be dropped off at participating quilt shops, at Giroux Sewing Center, or arrangements made with Linda Palaisy.
11. Entries must be picked up at your participating quilt shop, at Giroux Sewing Center, or arrangements made with Linda Palaisy
12. No limit on the number of entries per person but each entry must have it’s own individually numbered label from it’s purchased kit to qualify for the challenge.
